Week 9 imaging II

Today we learnt about the way coffee table books are designed. We were shown several examples about different kind of coffee table books are designed with jackets and different coats.

We basically have to incorporate the data of the objects that we chose in the week 8 project of ‘Objects as history’.

A coffee table book is usually an oversized, usually hard-covered book. Whose purpose is for display on a coffee table intended for use in an area, in which one entertains guests and from which it can serve to inspire a friendly conversation or pass the time.

I surfed the net for getting some ideas and get inspiration for doing some unique prints.

I want my cover page to display the idea of clipping mask.

And I also came across this which I found a bit interesting! It includes a screw or a loop at the top and all the pages are just enclosed via this loop. The reader can slide down to any page with complete ease this way. I have found many types of books online with this pattern and it seems quite interesting!.

Since I have to make illustrations for the objects, I am thinking of using a pouch kind of attachment to each page alternatively something like this.
